It’s Monday — What are you reading?

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…you just might discover the next “must-read” book!

Today I am listening to the audiobook The Lost Sun by Tessa Gratton.  I am really enjoying this listen.  This story takes place in the United States, but it is a country ruled by Norse gods.  This is a book I have to pay attention to.  The world building is very well incorporated into the plot line, but because the Viking gods aren’t familiar to me, it takes more brain work for me to follow the plot.  Soren is a great protagonist with his own faults — he is a beserker and is fighting the fever that beserking causes.   Because I’m still in the middle of this book, I don’t have the adequate words to describe the whole book.   I think this will be a great step-up for the Rick Riordan fans of the classroom.

I had a great reading week and plowed through several books.

The Center of Everything by Linda Urban

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen

Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne

Lions of Little Rock by Kristin Levine

Started, but not finished Sourthern League:  A True Story of Baseball, Civil Rights and the Deep South’s Most Compelling Pennant Race by Larry Colton

Up on deck this week:  Little Century  by Anna Keesey and The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman.  I’d also like to schedule a little field trip with my own kids and a couple of their reader friends to Addendum Books in St. Paul

  2. I really want to read The Moon and More– may have to order it for my library and THEN read it in order to get a copy. Looks like you have been busy with some good titles!
